The Cotton Gin
Established in 1929 as a working cotton gin, The Cotton Gin is a unique shopping
adventure in an atmosphere of bygone days. From the attic to cellar and ginning
building to seed room, The Cotton Gin is chock-full of textiles loomed in North
Carolina, nostalgia from Currituck's waterfowl heritage, and country crafts and
accessories. The Cotton Gin is a country-market kind of place, an unusual setting
for a most delightful shopping experience. We're at the hub of excitement, tinged
with a touch of the past, colorful, rustic and quaint.
We're a Southern Tradition
A journey to The Cotton Gin reveals room after room of collectible dolls, baskets of all sizes, stuffed animals, handmade quilts, stoneware, Christmas ornaments, cotton towels, waterfowl carvings, wooden crafts and candles.
We invite you to visit us when traveling to North Carolina's Outer Banks. You'll find The original Cotton Gin in the small community of Jarvisburg on Highway 158, 11 miles north of the Wright Memorial Bridge ... 50 miles south of Norfolk, Virginia and 60 miles east of Edenton, NC.
The Cotton Gin is open 364 days a year (until 8:00 pm during the season) and closed Christmas Day.
